I am experienced and passionate about helping students achieve. My professional testing knowledge through LDANZ and my last 8 years’ work as a specialised SLD tutor for secondary and primary students who struggle in different ways, gives me a solid basis to help students achieve by testing them. Learning Difficulties
Specific Learning Disabilities/ Difficulties (SLD) means difficulties with a specific underpinning skill or ability, such as memory, or visual skills, or retrieval skills, which manifests in difficulties in thinking, reading, writing or maths. It is a disability when it continues over time. Children and teenagers with SLD have average or above average general ability and spoken language, but their learning in reading, writing or maths doesn’t progress like a typical person their age.

Learning Assessments
Testing helps to pinpoint where a person’s difficulties are and why they are struggling with schoolwork. It then shows where teaching or tutoring needs to focus for improvements in academic skills. By comparing the student with an average peer, or others their age, this shows how much weakness there is, or whether the skill is a strength. This is important in diagnosing specific learning disability.
